We are currently seeking a strategic and dynamic Director of Development to lead our client’s web development and cloud integration initiatives. This role will oversee a team of developers, manage third-party vendors, and drive the design and implementation of integration solutions across the company’s on-premises and cloud ecosystems.
The ideal candidate will bring a balance of technical understanding and high-level strategic oversight, ensuring seamless integration between cloud and on-premise systems while fostering innovation and efficiency. Experience in industries such as gaming, hospitality, entertainment, or other large-scale, customer-facing organizations will be highly valued.
Your role:
- Lead and mentor a team of developers (a mix of full-time staff and contractors).
- Oversee third-party development agencies, ensuring deliverables meet quality and timeline expectations.
- Guide the team in the integration of applications across cloud and on-prem environments.
- Ensure proper utilization of integration tools like MuleSoft, AWS Lambda, and Kafka for various use cases: app-to-on-prem, on-prem-to-on-prem, and on-prem-to-vendor integrations.
- Provide strategic input on design decisions, offering high-level technical guidance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align development initiatives with business goals.
- Ensure the organization’s cloud-first strategy is effectively implemented while maintaining the integrity of on-premises systems.
- Identify and resolve integration challenges, ensuring operational efficiency and system reliability.
What you’ve got:
- 8 years in software development, integration, or related fields.
- 5 years of leadership experience, managing development teams and overseeing external vendors.
- Proven experience with cloud integration, hybrid environments, and tools like MuleSoft, AWS Lambda, and Kafka.
- Preferred background in the gaming, hospitality, or entertainment industry, or similar customer-centric environments where seamless technology integration is mission-critical.
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms and on-premise systems.
- Familiarity with web development technologies and integration best practices.
- Ability to translate technical challenges into actionable strategies.
- Exceptional decision-making abilities, with a track record of managing complex projects and cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
