Building and Grounds Maintenance Technician

We are looking for an Experienced Building and Grounds Maintenance Technician/Maintenance Worker needed for a Hotel in Havelock, NC.

Punctuality and reliability are a must! You must also have a valid driver's license. Must have reliable transportation. Must be on-call for after-hours emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
• Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels etc.)
• Assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary
• Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
• Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when needed
• Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.)
• Undertake activities of pest control such as spraying insecticide
• Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g., landscaping) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.)
• Creates a safe and attractive environment for guests and associates by ensuring the hotel is maintained in accordance with safety standards.
• Completes hotel room and building repairs such as replacing ceiling tiles, filters, light bulbs, patching vinyl and painting. Performs repairs on toilets, sinks, laundry facilities, kitchen another hotel property. Develops plans for completing routine and preventative maintenance and renovations; coordinates work with hotel department managers.
• Maintains safety and cleanliness of the exterior of the hotel, grounds, pool and exercise room.
• Ensures hotel adheres to all regulatory and safety standards by meeting with government and insurance inspectors and taking correction action as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills

• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems
• Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
• Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
• Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $14.73 - $15.42 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 60 per week
