We are excited to open up a position for a Residential and Commercial Roofing Director at Photon Brothers! Your expertise and leadership will play a vital role in overseeing our roofing operations across all markets in California and Colorado, ensuring we maintain our commitment to excellence and growth. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s roofing operations, including project management, business development, team leadership, and quality assurance. This role ensures that all residential and commercial roofing projects are executed efficiently, safely, and within budget while meeting company and industry standards.
Responsibilities: As the Residential and Commercial Roofing Director, you have responsibility over the following:
Operations Management
- Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of all residential and commercial roofing projects in California and Colorado.
- Develop and implement operational procedures to improve efficiency and quality. Collaborate with other internal departments to align roofing operations with overall company goals.
- Ensure all projects comply with building codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Manage vendor and supplier relationships to secure the best materials and pricing.
- Monitor job progress, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions.
Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of project managers, supervisors, and roofing crews.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching for improvement.
- Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous learning.
- Ensure employees are equipped with the proper tools, training, and certifications.
Business Development & Client Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to drive new business opportunities, new growth, and profitability in the Colorado and California markets.
- Attend industry networking events, trade shows, and conferences to expand business reach.
- Develop proposals and participate in contract negotiations.
Financial & Budget Management
- Prepare and oversee project budgets to ensure profitability.
- Track job costs, labor, and material expenses to optimize financial performance.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality and safety.
- Analyze financial reports and provide recommendations to senior management.
Quality Control & Safety Compliance
- Implement and enforce strict quality control standards on all roofing projects.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA and industry regulations.
- Address customer complaints and warranty claims efficiently.
- Stay up to date with industry advancements, materials, and best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Certified Roofing Contractor License (as required by state regulations) required.
- Proven experience in residential and commercial roofing, with at least 5-10 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of roofing materials, systems, and installation techniques.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and MS Office Suite.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations, safety compliance, and quality assurance practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- OSHA 30 Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Additional industry certifications (e.g., NRCA, GAF, CertainTeed Master Installer) are a plus.
This role pays between $125,000-$180,000 plus incentives for exceeding roofing quotas and finalized financial results directly based on roofing projects.
