Job Description:
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Principal Analytics Engineer to own and drive our analytics technology stack and solutions. This role will be responsible for architecting advanced analytics systems, including comprehensive tracking setups, dashboards, and reporting frameworks, while maintaining and enhancing the infrastructure in Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Tag Manager (GTM), and Optimizely. You will act as a trusted advisor to executives and stakeholders, providing expert guidance on analytics capabilities to drive business insights and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities: Analytics Tech Stack Ownership:
- Oversee and manage the analytics technology stack, including GA4, GTM, and Optimizely.
- Ensure the seamless integration of analytics tools with existing systems, maintaining data accuracy and integrity.
- Define and implement scalable analytics infrastructure and processes to support business needs.
Solution Architecture and Implementation:
- Design and deploy complex tracking systems, incorporating data layers and advanced event tracking strategies.
- Build and maintain robust dashboards and reporting frameworks tailored to various stakeholders.
- Lead the development of data pipelines to ensure accurate and timely flow of information from data sources to reporting tools.
Leadership and Advisory:
- Act as a trusted advisor to executives and stakeholders, providing expert insights into analytics capabilities and strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, and engineering, to identify and implement data-driven solutions.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in analytics and reporting across the organization.
GA4 and Data Layer Management:
- Own and maintain the GA4 infrastructure, including configurations for multiple sites and platforms.
- Architect and implement efficient data layers to support comprehensive data collection and reporting needs.
- Monitor and troubleshoot analytics tracking to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Qualifications: Education and Experience:
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Analytics, or a related field.
- 7 years of experience in analytics engineering, with a focus on designing and implementing complex analytics systems.
- Proven track record of managing GA4, GTM, and Optimizely infrastructures.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in GA4, including advanced configurations, custom dimensions/metrics, and event tracking.
- Proficiency in GTM for tag management and data layer implementations.
- Strong experience with Optimizely for A/B testing and experimentation.
- Solid understanding of web technologies, including JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.
- Knowledge of SQL and data modeling principles.
Soft Skills:
- Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capability to influence and guide executive-level stakeholders.
- Ability to lead and mentor teams in analytics best practices and methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with additional analytics tools and platforms.
- Certification in GA4, GTM, or Optimizely.
- Knowledge of cloud data platforms (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake) and ETL pipelines.
