What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant/Receptionist position at Physical Therapy?
Administrative Assistant/Medical Receptionist needed .
Privately owned out patient physical therapy practice. The Administrative Assistant/Receptionist is the primary contact with all patients and outside vendors and will be responsible for the following:
- Answering incoming calls, directing calls to appropriate personnel, and accurately taking messages
- Accurate patient scheduling
- Correcting dictated files
- Accurately maintaining appointment book
- Greeting patients and outside vendors
- Collecting co-payments from patients
- Contacting physician offices for needed information
- Reporting results of insurance verifications directly to patients
- Monitoring authorizations for services
- Filing
- Chosen candidate will be exposed to patients both in person, and over the telephone throughout the day. Therefore, one must have professional appearance, demeanor, excellent customer service skills, and excellent telephone etiquette.
Preferred candidate will have knowledge of all insurance companies such as Medicare, Highmark, United Health Care and Medical Assistance plans, as well as knowledge of Availity and NaviNet portals.
Ideal candidate will have experience in an out-patient Physical Therapy setting.
