The Benefits and Leave Administrator, under the supervision of the site lead, and/or at the direction of the Corporate Director of Benefits, serves to administer and process all leave of absence requests at an assigned healthcare location (Correctional Health Services).
- The Leave Administrator coordinates and processes all types of leave of absence including: FMLA, Medical Disability (Short Term and Long Term), New York State Paid Family Leave, Workers’ Compensation.
- This team member will be responsible for monitoring and administering claims, report generation, and communication with employees, managers, insurance carriers, medical personnel and attorneys.
- Serves as a point of contact and liaison with the CHS Payroll department to communicate payment eligibility for employees on an approved leave.
- Maintains accurate records and provides assistance to employees to ensure effective use of benefits.
- The Leave Administrator ensures that all leave requests are handled fairly and in accordance with CHS PAGNY policies, while also flagging any potential issues that might escalate to labor and employee relations.
- The Leave Administrator should stay updated on relevant labor laws and regulations regarding different types of leaves.
Qualifications
- Bachelors' Degree required
- Knowledge of administration of leave programs and applicable laws
- Ability to interpret and disseminate information to individuals and groups
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong computer skills- proficient in all Microsoft programs
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Three year’ experience in human resources leave administration, insurance, or closely related field

The annual base salary listed does not include bonuses/incentive compensation or benefits. Actual total compensation depends on many factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, and historical collections.
