Medical Biller

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our billing team. Full time opportunity for the right person. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Duties

• Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies and patients in a timely manner.
• Review patient records for completeness and accuracy before billing.
• Review payments posted from insurance and patients to patient accounts
• Follow up on outstanding claims and manage collections for unpaid accounts.
• Communicate with patients regarding their bills, payment plans, and any discrepancies in their accounts.
• Maintain organized medical records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve any billing issues or coding discrepancies.
• Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and best practices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or a related role within a medical office setting is required.
• Knowledge on Ophthalmolog/Optometry or Internal Medicine Billing.
• Familiarity with medical collection processes and insurance verification procedures.
• Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software. Experience in Akamai PM is a plus but not necessary
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
• Dependable with a positive attitude
• Certification in Medical Billing or Coding (e.g., CPC, CCS) is a plus but not required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
