This role requires a strategic and detail-oriented leader with expertise in laboratory operations, budgeting, regulatory compliance, process improvement, and team development. The Director of Laboratory Operations will play a critical role in driving operational excellence while maintaining alignment with organizational goals and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Operational Leadership :
Manage and optimize all aspects of laboratory operations across both the Houma, LA and Houston, TX facilities, including workflow efficiency, resource allocation, leadership development, and staff performance.
Ensure both laboratories operate in full compliance with CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and other relevant regulatory and accreditation standards.
Lead Lean Six Sigma initiatives across both laboratories to enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall quality.
Build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams at both laboratories, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and execute long-term operational strategies aligned with organizational objectives for both sites.
Collaborate with our Technical Product Manager and Laboratory Operations Managers to strategize on the development and maintenance of quality control and quality assurance programs in both laboratories.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including healthcare providers, vendors, and regulatory agencies, for both laboratories.
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in diagnostic laboratory operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher preferred).
Strong leadership and team-building skills.
