What are the responsibilities and job description for the Investment Portfolio Analyst position at Physicians Mutual?
Physicians Mutual is seeking an experienced Investment Portfolio Analyst to join our Investment team. As an investment portfolio analyst, your duties will consist of reporting and analytical functions related to the organization’s investment operations, software management, and handling investment related inquires from both internal and external sources. You will work with the Chief Investment Officer, senior management, corporate Investment Committee, and the Asset Liability Management (ALM) committee.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of investment transaction records, security master files and investment accounting data. Support data uploads, bond determinations and, impairment reporting in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Prepare and reconcile financial reports using investment systems while ensuring data accuracy and compliance with regulatory and internal policies. Maintain investment portfolio information, credit rating updates and compliance reporting.
- Ensures compliance with internal investment policies, NAIC requirements, and state regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and maintain alternative investment data, ensuring compliance with statutory accounting requirements. Accurately process capital calls, subscription agreements and investment documentation.
- Provide back-up support for departmental operations and assist with cash management processes as needed to ensure business continuity.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 3 years of relevant investments and/or investment accounting.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis.
- Excellent research, writing, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial data analysis tools.
- Knowledge of investment software i.e., Princeton Asset Management (PAM), BondEdge, Bloomberg.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of current investment practices, policies, and guidelines.
