What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at Phyton Talent Advisors?
The Controller will oversee corporate accounting and premium accounting functions to ensure the accurate and timely reporting of financial statements, FP&A activities, audits, and budgeting. Responsibilities include managing cash receipts, refunds, and commission payments, as well as ensuring compliance with statutory accounting principles (SAP) and GAAP.
Key Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field (CPA preferred; MBA/Master’s highly valued).
- Experience: Minimum 7 years of accounting experience, including 5 years in P&C insurance and 4 years in a supervisory role.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in statutory accounting, financial reporting, general ledger, Yellow Book, FP&A, investments, income tax, and treasury management.
- Software Proficiency: Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), financial systems, and Crystal Reports (preferred).
- Leadership & Analytical Skills: Strong management, problem-solving, and organizational abilities with a detail-oriented and proactive mindset.
- Communication & Collaboration: Ability to interface professionally at all levels, work under pressure, and take ownership of responsibilities.
Salary : $150,000 - $160,000
