Our Cient, a Global Investment Bank, is seeking a Middle Office Analyst in their New York, NY location.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Middle Office Analyst to support our trading and operations teams, with a specific focus on Credit Default Swaps (CDS). This role will manage a variety of middle-office functions, ensuring accurate trade capture, smooth reconciliation processes, and compliance with risk management protocols. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial products and risk mitigation, with particular expertise in CDS and trade lifecycle management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Trade Capture & Validation: Accurately capture and validate CDS trade details in our systems, ensuring alignment with front office and back-office records.
- Reconciliation: Perform daily reconciliation of CDS positions between internal and external records, addressing any discrepancies in a timely and accurate manner.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Monitor trading activity for compliance with internal risk limits and regulatory standards, coordinating with the risk and compliance teams on CDS-specific requirements.
- Settlement Oversight: Collaborate with clearing and settlement teams to ensure timely and accurate CDS settlements, troubleshooting discrepancies and implementing corrective actions.
- Reporting: Generate and review periodic reports on CDS trade metrics, risk exposure, and profit/loss positions for management and regulatory reporting.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements within the CDS trade lifecycle to improve efficiency, reduce operational risk, and streamline workflow.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the liaison between the front office, operations, risk, and compliance teams to support the CDS portfolio and address inquiries regarding trade discrepancies, risk exposures, and settlement issues.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in middle office, operations, or risk management within a financial services environment, with a focus on CDS or other derivative products.
- Skills:
- Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of trade capture systems
- Analytical Abilities: Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve trade discrepancies and analyze CDS trade metrics.
- Communication Skills: Ability to collaborate across teams, clearly communicate complex trade details, and interface with stakeholders at various levels.
- Risk & Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of CDS risk management, market practices, and regulatory standards.
