Our Client, a Global Financial Services Firm is seeking a Project Specialist in their Jersey City, NJ location.
Position Description:
The Fund Order & Custody Product team is seeking a Project Specialist to take a lead role in managing select projects supporting its third-party mutual fund business.
Working within the Product and Project team, the analyst will be responsible for specific projects related to the group, reporting directly to the team leader. This person will lead the initiative to automate third-party U.S. money market funds to improve efficiencies, increase profitability, and mitigate risk. Responsibilities include presenting to senior management, driving discussions with Risk and the Office of General Counsel (OGC), and attending external meetings with transfer agents and fund companies to drive trade and settlement automation.
Product Support:
- Participate in all Fund Order & Custody (FO&C) project reviews to analyze and prioritize fund families for automation based on activity or trade value.
- Lead select project reviews and automation initiatives.
- Coordinate automation efforts with external funds and transfer agents using pre-existing Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) automation. (SFTP experience required.)
- Manage testing efforts across impacted teams, including resource allocation, test script development, and data preparation.
- Oversee the department’s implementation of automation initiatives and conduct post-implementation wellness reviews (including mandatory weekend support).
- Manage post-implementation oversight with impacted teams and fund/transfer agents.
- Coordinate automation requirements with external funds/transfer agents through the use of proprietary files.
Client Service:
- Collaborate with team leads and supervisors to address resource constraints and balance production vs. testing for project milestones.
- Assist in defect triaging and resolution.
Administration:
- Ensure timely completion of all project-related tasks, including:
- Test script and requirement writing
- Testing plan execution
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and implementation
- Assist in the development and production of management reporting on project progress.
- Serve as the primary liaison for automation discussions with OGC, Risk, and Compliance.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Play an active role in risk, compliance, and project teams to compile and analyze relevant data.
- Lead remediation efforts as necessary.
- Manage UAT, Qtest, and all project-related documentation, ensuring accurate and organized records.
Financial Oversight:
- Act as the primary point of contact for understanding project-related costs and revenues.
- Review testing and implementation costs with a focus on process efficiency and reducing redundancies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) required.
- Minimum 3 years of project experience.
- At least 2 years of experience with U.S. money market funds.
- Experience with Qtest is a plus.
- Proven experience managing people and projects.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
- Ability to motivate and coordinate teams at all levels.
- Strong ability to manage competing deliverables effectively.
Salary : $35 - $40
