- Experience with plant startup, shutdown, and emergency response procedures to ensure continuous and reliable operations.

The Auxiliary Operator works closely with the operations team to meet generation requirements while adhering to safety and environmental standards.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Operate gas turbines, steam turbines, and associated equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform operational activities to support startup, shutdown, and routine operation of plant systems.
- Monitor and report equipment conditions, system anomalies, and operational concerns to plant leadership.
- Execute lockout-tagout procedures and electrical switching in accordance with safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate operating logs, environmental records, and other required documentation.
- Participate in the facility’s safety programs and complete required safety and environmental training.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on plant mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Respond to abnormal operating conditions safely and in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Perform basic chemical analysis and adjustments to maintain proper water and steam chemistry.
- Assist in plant housekeeping duties, including cleaning, painting, and general maintenance activities.
- Operate forklifts, trucks, man lifts, and other station vehicles as needed.
- Utilize the plant’s computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to document work orders and maintenance activities.
- Review and interpret technical documents such as piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), control logic diagrams, and operating procedures.
- Support the development and review of plant operating procedures and training programs.
- Experience in gas turbine power plants preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience in an operations and maintenance role in a power generation or industrial facility (or a BS in Engineering as a substitute).
- Basic knowledge of physics, mathematics, AC/DC electrical theory, thermodynamics, and fluid flow.
- Understanding of power plant safety protocols, including chemical handling, high-energy systems, lockout-tagout, confined space entry, and rotating machinery safety.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Position requires working on feet for extended working hours and varied shifts with weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules.
- Must be able to frequently climb ladders; enter confined spaces; crawl to and through confined space areas; climb to and work from elevated platforms, and walkways at elevations of 75 feet or more.
- High school diploma, GED, trade school, military service, or technical training required
- 5 years of experience in power generation operations required
- Prior experience operating gas and steam turbines in a combined-cycle power plant.
