This role will lead the commissioning and energization of medium- and high-voltage electrical systems, including relays, switchgear, substations, and motor control centers. The ideal candidate will be hands-on in the field and responsible for procedure development, test execution, and coordination with Owner’s Reps and testing contractors. - Ability to develop and execute detailed energization procedures.
- Proven experience in relay testing and switchgear commissioning.
- Comfortable leading in dynamic field environments and interfacing directly with EPC teams, third-party testers, and Owner’s Reps.
- Knowledge of NETA electrical testing standards and NFPA 70E safety practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to manage and document field commissioning efforts.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of energization and commissioning procedures.
- Manage electrical testing activities for relays, switchgear, MCCs, substations, and related systems.
- Supervise and coordinate third-party testing firms and ensure NETA standards are met.
- Interface with the EPC team, vendors, and Owner’s Representatives to drive commissioning progress
- Ensure compliance with lockout/tagout procedures, arc flash safety, and project-specific safety protocols.
- Document all test results, energization milestones, and issues encountered during commissioning.
- Lead daily electrical commissioning meetings, report status updates, and drive resolution of technical issues.
- Ensure electrical systems are installed and tested per design and meet operational requirements prior to turnover.
- Strong understanding of electrical commissioning practices, including startup and energization of MV/HV systems.
- Proficient in reviewing one-line diagrams, schematics, test reports, and field documentation.
- Field experience working with OEM vendors, testing contractors, and plant teams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to lead teams and maintain commissioning documentation
- Capable of navigating competing demands and personalities in a fast-paced, stakeholder-heavy environment.
- Ability to walk job sites, climb ladders, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to wear PPE for extended periods in a field commissioning setting.
- 8 years of commissioning and electrical testing experience in power generation or industrial projects.
- NETA certification or equivalent testing background strongly preferred.
- OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred.
