JOB SUMMARY
The Bookkeeper will prepare and analyze departments financial records. The bookkeeper will compile financial statements, review data, and ensure financial compliance. The bookkeeper will be responsible for executing a variety of financial procedures, including month-end and year-end closings, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, general ledger entries, forecasting, and budgeting.
Essential Duties:
• Review financial statements for accuracy and legal compliance.
• Enter accounting-related information into business logs.
• Inspect account books for efficiency and accuracy.
• Organize and update financial records.
• Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue.
• Perform monthly bank settlements.
• Prepare documentation for external auditor.
• Perform other duties assigned.
Qualifications: Education• Associates or Bachelor degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
Experience
• At least two (2) years of bookkeeper or accounting experience.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Must be computer proficient in Microsoft Office software as well as various types of computer accounting applications and ability to utilize programs operated by Tribal Gaming Commission.
• Experience Sage Intact Accounting Software (cloud base).
• Possess a good knowledge of the principles and methods of bookkeeping; office filing systems; and account maintenance including closing, reconciling, and balancing accounts.
• Be able to work and adapt in a diverse cultural setting.
• Ability to read and analyze financial reports.
• Must successfully pass a background and drug screening.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License and insurable under the Tribe’s insurance policy.

• Familiarity with the Tribe’s Constitution, laws, and culture is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to work in a high-performance, fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
• Adept at multi-tasking, have unquestionable integrity, with a commitment to accuracy.
• Organized with unfailing attention to detail and outstanding project management skills.
• High level of comfort/ease interacting with all levels in the Tribe.

PRCI Tribal Preference:
In accordance with applicable Tribal Law, and Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, the PRCI Administration shall give preference in hiring, promotion, transfer, and lay-off to enrolled members of the Picayune Rancheria of Chukchansi Indians. To qualify for this preference, applicants must submit verification of enrollment in the Tribe. Preference means that Tribal Members who are equally qualified as non-tribal members will be hired. In addition, on the Human Resources Interview rubric that allows for a total of 75 points during interviews, Tribal members will be awarded an additional 7.5 points (10% of allotted points) counted in the overall tally. Tribal members who are not Chukchansi will receive Indian preference by awarding five additional points (6.7% of the total allotted points).
