Job Summary
This position is responsible for providing comprehensive supervision and case management of assigned court cases.
Major Duties
- Screens and processes all assigned incoming cases through disposition.
- Ensures participants follow court requirements; monitors sanctions to ensure completion.
- Conducts office, school, employment and/or home visits according to department standards.
- Prepares various written reports; maintains accurate documentation, including case plans, chronological notes, exit plans, and follow-ups.
- Performs drug screening procedures.
- Collects fees from participants.
- Manages electronic database system by entering notes and data into system.
- Performs related duties.
- The ability to operate in a constant state of alertness, and safe manner.
Knowledge Required By The Position
- Knowledge of the judicial system.
- Knowledge of case management principles.
- Knowledge of community resources.
- Knowledge of relevant local, state and federal laws.
- Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions.
- Skill in the preparation of clear and concise reports.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
Supervisory Controls
The Accountability Court Coordinator assigns work in terms of general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures, accuracy, and the nature and propriety of the final results.
Guidelines
Guidelines include court orders and department policies and procedures. These guidelines require judgment, selection and interpretation in application.
Complexity/Scope of Work
- The work consists of varied case management duties. The unique needs of each client contribute to the complexity of the position.
- The purpose of this position is to manage an assigned court caseload. Success in this position contributes to participant compliance with court requirements.
Contacts
- Contacts are typically with co-workers, other county personnel, law enforcement personnel, court personnel, attorneys, offenders and their families, representatives of other agencies, and members of the general public.
- Contacts are typically to provide services, to give or exchange information, to resolve problems, or to motivate or influence persons.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
- The work is typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light objects.
- The work is typically performed in an office.

Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
