What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Coordinator position at Pico Propane?
Pico Propane is looking for a pro-active and driven Service Coordinator to join the team at our Fort Lauderdale location! The Service Coordinator plays a key role in efficiently managing service appointments and new construction projects, in addition to keeping systems up to date with accurate and current information.
A successful Service Coordinator should have strong interpersonal communication skills with a customer first mindset, and be highly self sufficient and goal oriented.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Organizes, schedules and dispatches appointments for service requests
- Interacts with customers via telephone, email, or in person to communicate and coordinate service schedules and ensure appropriate actions are taken to resolve customer concerns
- Maintains and manages customer accounts and records of customer interactions with details of inquiries, complaints, or comments
- Ensures work orders are posted and accounts are billed correctly and in a timely manner
- Manages new construction installs and projects by scheduling site surveys with detailed documentation providing the install plan; ensuring all materials are prepped for the job; keep up to date with each project file; and maintain Cargas accounts by monitoring the system at least weekly
- Collaborate with the permitting department to streamline the scheduling process for new installations, maintenance, and other projects requiring permits
- Manages the work with subcontractors and ensures correct and timely billing
- Monitors inventory levels, including tank monitors, and submits requests for additional supplies to Plant Manager
- Performs other related duties as assigned

Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and problem-solving skills
- Service-oriented and able to resolve customer concerns
- Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software
- Attentiveness and patience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite to include Excel and Word
- Experience with Cargas system a plus
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two (2) years of customer service experience
- Experience in the oil and propane industry (preferred but not required)

- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk, using a phone, and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds as needed
- Must pass pre-employment screening and background check
