JOB PURPOSE:
Under the supervision of the Director of Cardiac Services, the incumbent performs duties involving direct
patient care and operation of highly sophisticated radiographic and computer equipment in the
interventional cardiac catheterization laboratory. The Technologist will assist the Cardiologist and/or
Interventional Cardiologist during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. The Technologist
must possess a general knowledge of infection control guidelines, universal precautions, sterile
procedures, and must work cohesively with a team.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate of an approved and accredited Radiologic Technology Program or Registered Nurse program is
required.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Two (2) years of experience in clinical cardiology or critical care experience in ED or ICU
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
GA RN license if applicable
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
RCIS certification preferred.
Current ACLS and BLS.
