What are the responsibilities and job description for the STAFF PHARMACIST position at Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center?
Description : RESPONSIBLE FOR :
Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for the reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients which includes dosing variations, nutritional needs and disease states associated with the various age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary personnel. Performs patient focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide patients with optimal medication therapy.
Required Hours : variable day shifts (mainly) 7am-3 : 30pm, 7 : 30am-4pm, 8am-4 : 30pm. May need to rotate in to 2nd shift (9am-8pm or 11am-10pm) or 3rd shift (9pm-07 : 30am) when our 7 on / 7 off request PTO. This position will also likely do every 3rd or 4th weekend (weekend shift would usually be 7am-3 : 30pm, but could be 2nd or 3rd based on PTO needs). It is a full time flex position meaning scheduled at least 32 hours each week but could be scheduled up to 40 hours based on needs of department.
Qualifications :
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED :
Graduate of an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Pharmacy.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
N / A
MINIMUM LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW :
Licensed as a registered pharmacist in the state of Georgia.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS :
Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
