What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infant Teacher position at Piedmont Child Care Center?
We are looking for a qualified Infant Teacher to care for infants Monday-Friday from 930am-530pm. Our Teachers follow each child's individual schedule of diapering, feeding, and naps, and also spend much of the day playing with, holding, and talking to each child. MUST have prior experience working with infants in a child care setting. CDA preferred, but not required. Must be reliable, patient, calm, and love working with children. Come join our amazing team! Responsibilities
- Meet child's daily physical needs: diapering, feeding, changing clothing, napping
- Providing written documentation for parents to let them know about child's day
- Meet each baby's emotional needs by talking to, smiling at, and holding/cuddling
- Meet each child's cognitive needs by reading to, playing with, and entertaining
- Plan special activities appropriate for child's development
- Taking infants outside each day
- Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
Skills
- Proven experience as an Infant Teacher/Caregiver
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
- Excellent communication and instructional skills
- Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable
- CDA preferred, but not required
