Teacher Assistant
Full Time Teacher Assistant needed as a Floater in all classrooms, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. Responsibilities include assisting the Lead Teacher in carrying out lesson plans and implementing the daily program. This includes supervising and playing with children, helping with cleaning, diapering, mealtimes, and carrying out lesson plans. Must have experience in a child care setting, as well as knowledge of early childhood development. CDA or other formal education preferred. Must be reliable, patient, calm, and love working with children. Excellent way to gain experience with multiple age groups. Responsibilities
- Meet children's daily physical, emotional, and social needs
- Treat all children with dignity and respect
- Supervise the classroom according to the plans of the Lead Teacher
- Meet each child's cognitive needs by reading to, playing with, and entertaining
- Helping with meals, snacks, diapering, and using potty
- Maintain professional attitude, behavior, and dress at all times
- Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
Skills
- Proven experience as a Teacher/Caregiver in child care setting
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
- Excellent communication and instructional skills
- Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable
- CDA preferred, but not required
