What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production: Wood Shop position at Piedmont Composites & Tooling?
Piedmont Composites & Tooling is growing! We are looking to expand our production staff in our Wood Shop. This job will heavily involve woodworking and prior experience in this area is required. Other aspects of the job are fiberglass-specific; for this component, no previous experience is required! We do of all our own training in-house.
This job starts at $20/hr.
Job Description:

Basic cabinetry work including measuring, cutting, sanding, constructing, and finishing

Precision cutting of production materials of both wood and other materials used in production through the use of table saws, router, band saws, planers, etc.

Preparing fiberglass molds for production

Keep department clean

Requirements:

Must have “finish carpentry” skills

Must be able to properly use a table saw, miter saw, band saw, router, and other basic woodworking machinery

Must be able to spray finish lacquer for woodworking projects

Must be able to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16” of an inch

Must have the ability to cut and match miter joints on woodworking projects and molding

Must have the ability to read basic drawings or blue prints

Must be self- motivated and have the ability to work at a fast pace without immediate supervision

Must be able to follow basic safety rules and practices

Must be able to operate a forklift proficiently

Must be able to pass a drug test and disclose anything that would turn up on a background check
- Must have valid NC driver's license
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must be able to work on your feet and in 90 degree temperatures during summer
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
