Piedmont Eastside Medical Center seeks a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Care Unit team. This 18-bed cardiac unit specializes in the care of both cardiac and vascular patients, providing a unique opportunity for nurses to gain experience in a hybrid environment.
Unit Overview
The CCU treats a diverse patient population with diagnoses such as chest pain, cardiac dysrhythmias, congestive heart failure exacerbation, hypertensive emergency, abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomy, and pulmonary embolism. Our nursing staff consists of both telemetry and ICU-trained nurses, working closely with cardiologists and vascular surgeons to deliver exceptional patient care.
Patient Ratios
Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:4 for non-ICU patients and 1:2 (or 1:3) for ICU patients. ICU nurses may experience a 1:1 ratio when caring for critically ill patients on devices such as continuous renal replacement therapy, intra-aortic balloon pump, or Impella.
Responsibilities
This role is responsible for coordinating quality nursing care for patients across the lifecycle, addressing operational issues during shifts, and communicating patient care concerns to leaders. As a resource to staff, you will provide guidance and assistance to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must:
- Hold a graduate degree from a nursing program;
- Have at least one year of nursing experience in a hospital setting;
- Be licensed in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or hold a Multistate License;
- Obtain BLS certification;
- Possess two or more years of hospital experience, preferably in cardiology; and
- Hold advanced certifications, if applicable.
