Bakery Associate/Cake Decorator

Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and creative Cake Decorator to join our team. Responsibilities

• Decorate cakes to meet customer specifications, including birthdays, weddings, and special events.
• Collaborate with customers to design custom cake decorations that align with their vision.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the decorating area in compliance with food safety standards.
• Assist in the preparation of cake batters, icings, and fillings as needed.
• Upsell additional products to customers while providing excellent service.
• Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently during customer interactions.
• Monitor inventory levels of decorating supplies and report any shortages to management.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements

• Proven experience in cake decorating or a related culinary field is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage with clients effectively.
• Familiarity with food service operations in a grocery store or café setting is a plus.
• Basic understanding of retail math for managing inventory and sales transactions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Creativity and artistic skills in cake design are highly valued.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
