Mechanical Inspector Needed (First Shift/Split Shift)
Job Description
· The quality inspector is responsible to perform visual and dimensional inspections on incoming parts, in-process and final inspections of manufactured machined parts and/or assemblies, using tools such as Micrometer, Depth Gage, Caliper, Height Gage, Checking Fixtures, Surface Plate, Thickness Gage, Comparator, CMM & Other Inspection Systems.
· Parts to be inspected to engineering drawings, customer purchase order, work order, industry standards, ISO, AS and IATF standards as required, plus internal specifications.
· Ability to Follow and Enforce Procedures and Policies, troubleshoot quality issues, document and enter data electronically when required
· Use of Good Verbal and Written Communication Skills
· Able to Work Short Notice Overtime including weekends when required
Responsibilities
· Perform to job description as outlined
· Perform and document First Article Inspections and PPAP’s.
· Clearly document non-conformances and improvement opportunities
· Enter information into QMS and E2 systems
· Participate in Quality and Productivity Improvement projects
· Train other inspectors on the use of mechanical measurement tools
Qualifications
· Ability to read and comprehend drawings, specifications, and procedures
· Ability to properly choose and use mechanical measurement tools (i.e., micrometers, gage pins, CMM, height gages, etc.)
· Ability to set up on surface plate to conformed GD&T specifications, measuring devices such as height gages, calipers, micrometers, depth gages, universal protractor, index fixture, v-blocks, angle blocks, 1-2-3 blocks, Deltronic pin gages, bore gages, thread gages, sine plates, CMM, Comparator, Inspection Systems, etc.
· Competence in basic math, oral communication, and written communication
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
· Desire to work in a team environment as a contributing member of the entire organization
Minimum Requirements and Experience
· Citizenship: US Citizen or Permanent Resident Alien
· Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree or above preferred.
· Experience: Minimum of 4 years experience in a production manufacturing environment and at least 3 years experience in Mechanical Inspection or equivalent vocational training within the quality control environment.
· Communication: For safety and quality, must be able to read, write & understand English.
· Physical Demands: Associate is required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch; Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
