Piedmont Medical Center is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team in a Full Time Nights position. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a vital role in analyzing blood, body fluids, and tissues to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform various laboratory tests and procedures accurately and efficiently.
- Receive, process, and distribute specimens appropriately and timely.
- Store specimens properly for further testing as needed.
- Assist with training new employees and students.
- Maintain equipment and supply inventory.
- Adhere to laboratory and hospital policies and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with current regulatory guidelines and best practices for infection control.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience from an accredited school of medical laboratory technicians.
- 0-2 years of experience as a medical laboratory technician; 1-2 years of job-related experience is preferred.
- Registration or Registry-eligibility in accordance with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, AMT) within one year of hire. Licensure, as required by State law.
