Rappahannock Community College (RCC) invites applications for a part-time position as a Recruitment Specialist , to be assigned to the Coordinator of Student Success under the college’s Strategic Enrollment Management unit at the Glenns campus.
This is a part-time position with no benefits working up to 29 hours / week.
The Recruitment Specialist provides exceptional front-line administrative support to the recruitment, onboarding and advising teams as they serve prospective students, current students, alumni, staff, and faculty.
The Recruitment Specialist serves the general public by delivering information and guidance in academic advising and general college enrollment services processes.
The Recruitment Specialist is responsible for triaging students to the correct staff members via phone, email and in person.
The Recruitment Specialist serves as the primary appointment scheduler and keeper of the College Navigator team calendars.
The incumbent provides logistical support for New Student Orientation and Registration. Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's / Required Qualifications Working knowledge of curricular and workforce programs, academic requirements, career opportunities and qualifications, and enrollment services processes in a higher education setting.
Some knowledge of student development theory and practices. Knowledge of financial aid and scholarships. Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of customer service to students, parents, faculty and staff.
Ability to support the work of college faculty and staff for student success. Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with multi-cultural populations that support diversity, cultural understanding and inclusion.
Ability to utilize personal computers and current software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite and social media. Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
Additional Considerations Progressive experience working with a variety of individuals in a recruitment, admissions or advising capacity and experience working in a college environment.
Successful and demonstrated high performance providing exceptional customer service. Operation of a State Vehicle Yes Supervises Employees No Required Travel Occasional travel between campuses may be required.
