The Dean of Enrollment Services plays a pivotal role in achieving equitable outcomes for students in a student-ready college. As a student affairs leader, the Dean provides vision and leadership of student affairs programs, including outreach and admissions, student records, advising, veterans’ affairs, strategic enrollment management, and retention. The Dean advances strategies and programs to increase persistence, retention, and academic success for students in workforce, credit career, and transfer pathways. This leader will enhance the student experience through collaboration with campus partners and expand efforts to maximize student success, retention, and enrollment while developing and supporting their team. The Dean will be a steadfast advocate for assisting campus stakeholders in understanding their role in student success and achieving desired and equitable student outcomes.

The dean reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Workforce Development.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a thought leader in outreach, recruitment, pathways advising, academic records (registrar), and enrollment management.
- Refine and execute the College’s strategic enrollment and retention plan to achieve the College’s enrollment goals.
- Implement, utilize, and leverage the customer relationship management software (Salesforce) to optimize the efficiency of admissions processing, communication strategies, recruitment, retention, and other functions for prospects and students.
- Oversee the outreach, admissions, and onboarding process for new students to ensure a seamless student experience and ensure students gain early momentum in their first semester.
- Lead outreach and recruitment staff to implement initiatives that achieve strategic enrollment goals and develop an assessment and evaluation plan for the outreach and recruiting unit.
- Ensure that enrollment management strategies, processes, and procedures are consistent and supportive of all learners, regardless of whether they are enrolled in credit or non-credit workforce programs (One-Door).
- Propose program-specific recruitment strategies to attract students to PVCC’s diverse academic and workforce offerings.
- Collaborate and work in close partnership with the director of public relations and marketing to develop strategic marketing plans for the college, including outreach and advertising designed to attract and recruit students from targeted segments consistent with the college's mission and core population.
- Fully implement the case management pathways advising model to support student persistence and success and assist in developing an assessment and evaluation plan for the advising unit.
- Lead the registrar’s office staff in refining processes and procedures in academic records, transcript services, and graduation to ensure efficient student outcomes.
- Represent the division on internal and external councils, committees, and task forces, including those in the Virginia Community College System (VCCS).
- Stay informed of new trends and innovations in community colleges and higher education to ensure the division remains competitive and relevant.
