The Automation Project Manager in this role will focus on Process Control Automation. This role will provide technical automation leadership and collaborate with branch resources to execute projects in the Chemical and Pharmaceutical industries. Ability to read, understand and interpret complex chemical and pharmaceutical industry specifications and then outline the tasks required to comply with them is required. Industry standards not yet known will need to be researched by the project manager for compliance. The project manager will be empowered to explore new areas that our team’s process control skill set can be applied to.

Responsibilities
Project Management:
- Help identify new sales opportunities.
- Provide estimates for new opportunities.
- Maintain and improve customer satisfaction. Prepare and/or review design for compliance with engineering principals, applicable standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
- Lead and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, and resources while monitoring the process from concept through implementation.
- Prepares project progress and completion reports.
- Ensure profitability goals are met on a monthly and annual basis.
- Resolve engineering design and test problems.
- Directs integration of technical activities and products.
- Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
- Manage, plan, schedule, communicate, facilitate, and report project related tasks.
- Break down work packages into manageable tasks. Assign and/or direct work of internal resources and sub-contractors (internal and external).
- Lead teams, mentor talent, contribute to operational success.
- Work closely with sales and service resources in a consultative and/or training environment.
- Evaluate objectives, anticipate obstacles, measure progress, and take appropriate corrective action to achieve objectives.
- Monitor deliverables for completeness, quality of workmanship, and how well they meet customer expectations.
- Monitor production of project deliverables and provide assistance in solving production issues that may occur. (This may include control panels, work cells, instrumentation, documentation, customer training)
- Minimum five years related experience and/or training in industrial automation, and Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Proven experience leading and managing complex projects
- Prior experience mentoring/coaching a team is preferred
- Previous experience managing a P&L is preferred
- Prior experience in business development strongly preferred
