At Pierce, we believe that “The Difference is Service.” The Inventory Specialist position is essential in maintaining our nationwide warehouse network and ensuring the timely delivery of orders.
Job summary:
Responsible for monitoring inventory across our nationwide chain of Branches and Distribution Centers and ensuring the accuracy recorded within our inventory management system.
Major Responsibilities:
· Monitor inventory levels across multiple locations, identify discrepancies and reconcile errors.
· Develop and maintain processes to enable the accuracy of our inventory management system.
· Manage inventory reconciliation across multiple locations, including physical inventory and cycle counts.
· Work with warehouse, procurement and sales teams to accurately communicate inventory levels across the locations.
· Proactively identify issues, troubleshoot, and communicate updates as needed.
- Verify Purchase Order/ material arrival accuracy by performing accuracy checks during receipt process, as well as matching invoice and Purchases Order to ensure proper pricing, quantity, and product specification.
· Other responsibilities include working with inventory receivables, assisting with purchasing, monitoring commodities (aluminum) exchange rates.
Experience:
· Minimum of 2 years of inventory experience, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
· Experience with Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Outlook
Education:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or other related discipline preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Intellectual curiosity with a desire to learn, grow and develop.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
- Experience with working with various computer systems, and comfortable manipulating and analyzing large amounts of data.
- Ability to function in a fast paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a collegial environment.
- Ability to make decisions and work with minimal to moderate supervision.
