Position Summary

We are looking for two self-motivated, customer service focused, team players to join our team at the front desk of Sprinker Recreation Center. You will get to support our community by providing a high level of customer experience to the public, in an energetic and fast-paced environment.

Pierce County Parks and Recreation manages over 5,200 acres of open space, trails, developed and undeveloped parks. We provide recreational programs and infrastructure in active and passive parks and trails. The department consists of three divisions : Parks and Recreation, Administration and Resource Stewardship. Core Daily Responsibilities :
- Greeting Customers and providing assistance via email, phone and in person
- Assisting with program registrations
- Park Shelter and Field Rentals
- Operate point of sale system and accurately process payments
- Multi-line phones
- Aiding in the security of the facility
- Work with little or no supervision in a self-motivated manner
Schedule Information :
We have two positions available, each working a different schedule.
1. Opening Schedule : Saturday and Sunday 6 : 45 a.m. to 1 : 45 p.m.
2. Closing Schedule : Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat and Sun 4 : 30 p.m. to close (closing time is between 9 : 00 and 10 : 00 p.m. depending on programming)

Extra hires are eligible to receive sick leave in accordance with the WA State Minimum Wage Act. Extra hires are not eligible for other County benefits.
Social Security
All Pierce County employees are covered by the federal Social Security and Medicare systems. The county and the employee pay an equal amount into the system.
Retirement and Deferred Compensation
Pro-tem Judges in District Court, Pro-tem Superior Court Commissioners, Extra Hires with Retirement, and Work Study Students with Retirement are eligible for Retirement and Deferred Compensation and Social Security.
