These positions are located in our North Region, working at North Lake Tapps Park, Riverside Park, the Tehaleh Mountain Bike Park and the Foothills Trail.

You will work as part of a team that supports the maintenance and repair of the infrastructure of the Pierce County Parks system and direct knowledge of the hands-on work to keep our facilities functioning. Your work will be instrumental in providing Pierce County residents with safe and enjoyable parks and facilities.  Nature of the Work:

You are responsible for performing a wide variety of maintenance and repair tasks for grounds, buildings, structures, and equipment within the Parks Department. You may typically be required to learn and participate in maintenance activities associated with a variety of skills and trades.

 Core Daily Responsibilities: 

The variety of work performed in this position includes a wide variety of maintenance and repair tasks for grounds, buildings, structures, and equipment.  

  • Perform general parks maintenance work such as, but not limited to weeding, trimming, and mowing.
  • Perform maintenance work such as but not limited to facilities cleaning.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Schedule Information:
We currently have 3 positions available. The typical schedule for these roles is: Wednesday through Sunday, 12:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • Ability to safely lift, push and pull 50lbs
  • Ability to work all terrains in all weather conditions
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Experience in grounds keeping, including weeding, trimming, and mowing
  • Current driver’s license, DOL check

 This is a competitive selection process. Your application will be reviewed and evaluated for the quality and quantity of education/experience in the areas listed. Applicants whose qualifications most closely correspond to the County's needs will be eligible for further consideration.
