What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary Landscaping and Maintenance Worker position at Pierce County?
On-the-spot interviews are available at the County Career event on 3/5 from 12 pm - 3 pm at Puyallup Pioneer Pavilion.
You will assist and work closely with skilled Gardeners to cultivate and care for ornamental plants and lawns on County properties. You will assist with mowing lawns, fertilizing, pruning, trimming, mulching, and transplanting plants, shrubs, and trees. Work involves the use and maintenance of hand and power tools and the ability to work outdoors.
Core Duties:
Assist with planting grasses, flowers, and shrubs, and designing flower beds. Rotate plants as needed and track plant inventory.
May assist with laying sod, installing irrigation systems, and performing other duties related to gardening or landscaping projects.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- This is an entry level position. Prior work experience and or knowledge in the field will be considered.
- Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid Washington State Driver's license.
- Ability to successfully complete all required background investigations
- Must be able to physically perform the essential job functions and meet the travel requirements of the position.
