PAID LEAVE:
Full-time Pierce Transit employees receive 11 paid holidays, 2 personal paid holidays, 6 days of major sick leave, and 22 days of paid time off (PTO) per year. Part-time employees receive pro-rated leave, to include major sick leave, PTO, and holiday pay. PTO accrual rates increase per policy and/or collective bargaining agreement. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.
- Supervises the work of assigned personnel, including assigning and reviewing work, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Provides daily scheduling information to other departments within the agency.
- Directs the preparation of various correspondence and reports for the section.
- Assists in preparing and monitoring a budget plan that reflects the division’s priorities. Allocates resources to meet priorities and goals and manages contracts.
- Investigates, resolves, and responds to customer complaints. Evaluates issues brought forth by other agency employees. Collaborates with other departments to resolve employee and policy issues and improve overall working environment.
- Ensures accuracy of records, time entries, and computer system data.
- Provides training, guidance, and mentorship.
- Responsible for coordination and oversight of the employee bidding processes.
- Ensures compliance with agency policy, collective bargaining agreement provisions, Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, codes, and/or statutes.
- Provides assistance and works with other departments within the agency. Provides support and information regarding transit operator schedules.
- Serve as a member of the emergency operations center (EOC).
- Demonstrates reliable and consistent attendance.
- Performs related work as required.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field
- Three (3) years of experience in transit operations, scheduling, or dispatching, or a closely related industry
- Experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
- Public sector experience desired.
- Individuals must pass a background check.
