Now Hiring: Class B Driver – Landscape Construction
Pierre Landscape is a leader in commercial landscape construction, specializing in union, prevailing wage, and public works projects—including schools, parks, and municipal facilities. We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Class B Driver to support our field operations with safe and efficient transport of materials, equipment, and tools to various job sites across Southern California.
Position Overview
As a Class B Driver, you will be responsible for transporting landscape construction materials, equipment, and job site supplies to and from project locations. You’ll play a vital role in supporting field crews and yard operations by ensuring timely deliveries, operating equipment as needed, and maintaining a safe and organized yard. This role is ideal for a motivated individual with experience in construction logistics and a commitment to safety and service.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Class B vehicles (e.g., flatbeds, stake beds, dump trucks with trailers) for delivery and transport of materials and equipment
- Take delivery orders, plan routes, and maintain a delivery schedule across multiple counties
- Load and unload landscape construction materials, tools, and equipment
- Operate light equipment such as Skid Steers, Mini Excavators, Dingos, or similar to load/offload trailers
- Secure loads using chains, straps, and binders per safety standards
- Fuel and inspect equipment prior to delivery
- Perform daily truck and trailer inspections and report any issues or defects
- Assist with yard duties, including organizing tools and materials, maintaining equipment, and general upkeep
- Ensure timecards and required documentation (delivery logs, inspection reports) are completed accurately and submitted on time
- Collaborate with field staff and yard team to meet project needs
- Comply with all DOT regulations, company safety protocols, and applicable traffic laws
- Report any incidents encountered on the road to Supervisor
- Monitor road conditions and adjust routes to avoid delays
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience preferred
- Experience operating landscape or construction equipment is a plus
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
- Must be dependable, punctual, and a team player
Physical Requirements
- Work environment consistent with that of a construction or heavy equipment yard and repair shop
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods with frequent bending and stooping
Work Environment
- Field and yard environment with exposure to adverse weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, dust, and dirt
- Monday – Friday, 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM, with overtime as needed
