What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full Time Veterinary Assistant position at Pierz Veterinary Clinic?
Experience working in a medical clinic required (human or veterinary).
Do you have experience drawing blood, giving injections, running lab samples, calculating medicine doses, administering medications, or cleaning and wrapping wounds? Do you have training as a medical assistant, nurse, ultrasound technician or dental hygienist? Do you have knowledge of medical terminology?
Are you tired of working in human medicine but want to use the skills you have?
Do you like animals and want to help them? Are you open to being around all types of animals, not just dogs and cats?
Pierz Veterinary Clinic is looking for the right person to be trained in as a veterinary assistant.
Assistants will take case histories, patient vitals, help restrain animals for sample collection or treatment, administer certain treatments, help monitor patients during surgery and during their recovery, discharge patients from simple surgeries, make follow-up calls, help run lab work and prepare samples to be sent to outside labs, help schedule and check patients out, and more! If interested, assistants will ride along to farm calls and assist the veterinarian on farms.
Full time position: Work 4 days per week 8-5 and every third Saturday morning 8-noon.
