Position Summary:
The Shop Helper supports the day-to-day operations of the shop by assisting with the maintenance, organization, and cleanliness of tools, materials, and equipment. This role plays a vital part in ensuring our crews are well-equipped and prepared for field operations.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with the loading and unloading of tools, equipment, and materials for field crews.
- Clean, inspect, and perform minor maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Keep the shop, storage areas, and yard clean and organized.
- Support shop personnel and field crews with tool preparation and staging.
- Conduct regular inventory counts; track tool check-in/check-out.
- Dispose of scrap materials and debris in accordance with safety and environmental standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Follow all safety procedures and always wear appropriate PPE.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
- Deliver tools or materials to job sites as needed.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous experience in a shop, warehouse, or construction environment preferred but not required.
- A Valid DL is required
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
