Established plumbing and septic company needs a Controller!

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
- Communicate routinely with Project Managers on a variety of job-related topics including bonding, insurance and contract agreements
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
- Provide reporting and budgeting as required by Senior Management
- Work with project management staff ensuring proper compliance with accounting procedures including reviewing and analyzing job cost estimates and reports monthly
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
- Work with outside accounting/financial firms
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls, including developing written procedures for the operations staff and work with team to ensure proper implementation and compliance
- Additional controller duties as necessary
Qualifications:
- Proven working experience as a Financial controller
- Advanced degree in Accounting and/or Finance required
- CPA or CMA preferred
- 10 years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience in Construction (Civil) or Service (Septic/Plumbing/Electrical) Industry
- Experience in job cost accounting and financial reporting
- Understanding of WA State & Federal Accounting Principles, including knowledge in Prevailing Wages
- Understanding of commercial insurance policies required
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
Salary : $120,000 - $130,000
