Job Description
Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Specialty : Cardiac Catheterization Lab Staff
Job Duration : 14 Weeks
Shift : Days, 4x12 Hour Shifts per Week
Guaranteed Hours : 48 Hours / Week
Experience : Minimum 2 years required, 5 years preferred. Travel experience is also required.
License : RN License
Certifications : CPR, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, EKG
Must-Have : Proficiency in English (Speaking, Reading, Writing)
Job Description :
- Assess and reassess young adult, adult, and elderly patients, applying the nursing process efficiently.
- Demonstrate competency in specialized procedures and equipment such as Cardiac Monitoring, and care / recovery of patients pre / post interventional cardiac procedures.
- Manage care of patients with vascular closure devices, including application, maintenance, and removal.
- Pull and maintain Arterial and / or Venous Sheaths.
- Operate ACT machine, Angioseal / Vasoseal, and other relevant equipment.
- Administer moderate sedation adhering to safety and prevention guidelines.
- Assist with Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE) under procedural safety guidelines, including the Bubble method.
- Manage pain and perform follow-up pain reassessment.
- Conduct blood draws and follow proper order for lab testing.
- Perform IV therapy, including the infusion of blood and blood products.
- Utilize information management systems effectively.
- Handle synchronized cardioversion and manage ICDs and Pacemakers (both Temporary and Permanent) pre / post care and recovery.
- Assist in procedural area responsibilities :
- Recovery and post-care for interventional cardiac, electrophysiology, and radiology procedures.
- Participation in vascular procedures including IVC Filters, Run-Offs, Acute and Chronic Occlusions.
- Assist in procedures with Peripheral Balloons, Stents, Thermodilution, Invasive Monitoring, and IVUS.
- Support FFR Procedures, Electrophysiology EP Procedures, RF Ablations, and Cryoablations.
- Assist in the insertion, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump.
- Aid in the insertion of Loop Recorder, and manage ICDs, Pacemakers.
- Carry out Synchronized Cardioversion / Defibrillation operations.
- Monitor and manage anaphylactic reactions using an anaphylactic kit.
- Proficiency in MAC Lab System Monitoring.
- Educational background must include an Associate's degree in nursing, a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
