Job Description
Weekends required. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly and you will spend the majority of your time on your feet. $18-20/hour to start, depending on your experience. This position is responsible for opening/closing the building, maintaining cleanliness of locker, restrooms and public areas, working in the Pro Shop and driving the Zamboni machine. This position will be a representative of our rink to the public. Zamboni experience preferred, but not necessary, we will train the right person. Must have valid drivers license and a reliable means of transportation. Punctuality and reliability are important in this sometimes fast-paced environment. Excellent second job or for retirees and students, but we will work with anyone who has a driver's license and a great attitude/willingness to learn.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Driving & Routine Maintenance:
Drives the Zamboni, and follows safety protocol.
Rink Maintenance:
Pick up trash sweep and mop floors, vacuum as needed.
Empty trash bins inside/outside rink and ensure restrooms and public areas are tidy.
Fills supplies in the restrooms and locker rooms.
Opening and or/closing the building.
Turning interior lights on and /or off.
Assures games nets are out and maintenance of nets when needed.
Ice Maintenance:
Records ice temperature and compressor status as needed.
Assures that the compressor room is properly open (or closed).
Monitor and record daily refrigeration plant levels as requested.
Rink Facility Maintenance
Set-up and clean-up for rink events; it is a key component of this position that the building interior and exterior areas be kept clean and attractive – public areas as well as locker rooms, bathrooms etc.
Be responsible for security of the rink building to include, but not limited to, locking and closing all doors at the end of each night.
Be familiar with all emergency and security procedures, including fire drills.
General snow removal, shoveling/snow blowing of walkway and stairs.
Troubleshooting:
Reports any safety or mechanical issues to the rink Manager immediately. Safety is considered first priority at all times.
Additional Functions:
This position acts as a customer service representative at the rink, answering questions and assisting skaters and the general public. Refers any issues that s/he is unable to resolve to the rink manager.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor of his/her designee.
Job Requirements/Physical Demands:
Minimum Qualifications:
Basic reading and math skills equivalent to HS diploma.
Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to learn maintenance skills.
Good communication skills.
Valid Driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
Successful completion of all required pre-employment background checks.
Must have physical ability to drive ice resurfacing machines.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly.
Majority of days spent standing or walking.
Work conditions include exposure to cold, heat and noise.
Climbing stairs, ladders and other objects is often required, along with the need to bend kneel and reach.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred experience with ice rink operations including experience as a Zamboni driver, however we are willing to train if you are willing to learn.
