Ice Rink Supervisor - Nights and Weekends

We are looking to hire a night and weekend supervisor for our very busy ice skating arena in Hingham, MA. Must be available to work nights and weekends only, have reliable transportation, and must be on time. PLEASE READ FULL JOB DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY BEFORE APPLYING AND ALL QUESTIONS MUST BE ANSWERED.

JOB DESCRIPTION
This position assists in the overall operation, maintenance, and supervision of a busy skating arena. You will work every weekend and 3 weeknights.

This position predominantly operates on second shift (3:00 pm – close) particularly during peak season. This may also include extended hours for special events and special maintenance issues. Shift times and days will also be determined by upper management of the rink.

This position is one of a working supervisor. This position is to lead by example and to work hand in hand with all staff.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Supervises all Pro shop, skate sharpening, and general facility employees as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manages and supervises above-mentioned staff during his/her assigned shift
• Drives the Ice Arena Resurfacer (Zamboni) and ensures that ice times are kept on schedule. Operates all facility maintenance equipment as needed.
• Execute written and oral instructions; complete duties with exactness, neatness, and follow all safety protocols.
• Provides information to upper management for decision-making purposes.
• Represents rink during shift and deals with any customer complaints or public service issues that arise. Should something arise, contacts upper management immediately.
• Supervises and executes all maintenance and cleanliness of operations within the Ice Arena (i.e.. Ensure that lobby, locker rooms, viewing areas and stands, player benches, changing areas, restrooms and function rooms are kept clean and that trash cans (inside and out) are continually emptied.
• Ensures that all of the above are complete before workers leave for the night.
• All other duties as assigned.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma and higher

Ice Rink Experience
Experience managing employees

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Maintain valid Massachusetts driver’s license.

Pass CORI criminal and full background check.

Must be dependable for assigned days/times

COMPENSATION

• $23 and up per hour depending upon experience. Bump in pay after trial period.
