Job Description
The Calibration Technician is responsible for executing mechanical and electrical calibration tasks to verify the accuracy of measuring and testing equipment used in aviation. This role ensures compliance with precise technical specifications and supports the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of test equipment.
- Calibrate measurement and test equipment to ensure they meet published technical specifications.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of precision test equipment, applying calibration knowledge to resolve issues.
- Data Collection & Reporting: Gather, analyze, and record calibration data to produce detailed calibration reports and certificates.
- Interact with other technicians, management, internal customers, manufacturers, and vendors to ensure effective operations and adherence to calibration standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Certifications: Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) Air Force certification or equivalent training.
Intermediate understanding of electronic theory, physical/dimensional principles, and calibration methodologies.
Computer Skills: Proficient in following software-driven test programs and utilizing MS Office Suite or Google Suite.
Strong oral and written communication skills, including technical writing.
Work Conditions: Willingness to work off-shifts and occasionally lift heavy equipment.
