What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bartender/Server - Chicago position at Pilot Project Brewing?
We are looking for knowledgeable craft beer lovers to join the Pilot Project Brewing team in our tasting room.
Pilot Project is a brewery incubator based in Logan Square, Chicago. Our approach to brewing industry-defining products happens by fostering relentless experimentation of new brewing recipes, breweries, collaborations, styles, and concepts. Our mission for every guest walking into the Pilot Project tasting room is to experience the thoughtfulness we put into our products by way of expert knowledge and impeccable customer service.
We accomplish this by hiring spirited and dedicated individuals that embody the Pilot Project ethos and demonstrate expert knowledge of the brewing process, our craft beers, cuisine, and fellow breweries. We expect our servers to create a welcoming and educational environment curated to each guest’s needs.
Responsibilities:
- Be awesome
- Uphold the highest standards of customer service for every customer
- Communicate openly and respectfully with all team members
- Maintain standards for keeping the bar, tasting room, patio, and facility clean and sanitary
- Answer questions and make insightful recommendations regarding our beer and food menu
- Remove dirty/unneeded glass and plate ware from customer’s dining space
- Understand all functions of a semi-auto espresso machine
- Prepare and sell quality coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques
- Pour and serve draft beer and, where necessary, mix non-alcoholic beverages into appropriate glassware using standard industry practices
- Serve prepared food items
- Clean, sanitize and organize glassware, cutlery, and dishware
- Continue education surrounding coffee, beer styles, recipes and brewing
- Follow uniform guidelines
- Understand all functions of in-house POS system
- Maintain up-to-date basset and food handlers’ certification
- Remain punctual for all shifts and Pilot Project Brewing events
- Maintain supply levels of all products
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 years experience in casual dining environment
- Must be 21 years of age
- Basset Certificate required
- Food handlers card certification required
- Cicerone Certified Beer Server certificate preferred
- Expert knowledge of craft beer tasting and brewing process
- Mind blowing customer service skills
- Full-time and part-time positions available with nights, weekends, and holiday availability required
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Be punctual, kind-hearted, patient, and stay awesome
