School Security Guard - PART TIME
As a school security guard, you’re entrusted with an extremely important responsibility: keeping school grounds safe for students, faculty, staff, parents, and approved visitors.
Yet, that primary responsibility is composed of various duties that require you to maintain a high level of attention to detail, great empathy, the ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism, and much more.

Reliable transportation is a requirement.
10-hour shifts, Tuesday - Friday, 7am until 5pm
Principal Accountabilities & General Responsibilities:
- Fulfill duties associated with the post assigned as part of the school’s comprehensive security plan; maintain an orderly post and rove/patrol majority of the work day.
- Actively respond to active shooter incidents.
- Patrol (foot) and monitor school property for unauthorized persons. If needed, redirect or escort from property.
- Report unusual activity or suspicions of safety issues to the Security Supervisor or administration promptly.
- Complete proper documentation related to incident reports and misconduct reports.
- Produce and deliver reports to show progress against key metrics
- Monitor school grounds and school entrances to ensure only authorized personnel and authorized visitors access the school; if assigned to the main entrance, ensure all guests follow visitor protocol and triage visitor requests
- Actively participate in professional development training to ensure ongoing growth and to advance skills
- As assigned, monitor the student entry and dismissal process to ensure safety
- Build positive and professional relationships with students and leverage those relationships to establish and maintain productive and safe learning environments and common areas of the building
- Exercise dignity and respect when interacting with students at all times
- Serve as a primary participant in emergency response during crisis situations including but not limited to fire, tornado, and active shooter incidents
Hourly: $24.00 Hour – Depending on Experience - with Benefits

Our armed security professionals provide protective services with an emphasis on ambassadorship. Pilum is looking to hire experienced school security guards for our contract in the Denver Metro Area. We are looking for only the best candidates, with skills to include critical thinking, problem-solving, and who strive for excellence.
- Preferred Military Veteran – Honorably Discharged -OR- (Preference given to Veterans)
- Preferred Former Law Enforcement
- Preferred to be a graduate of a certified Federal, State, County, or local law enforcement training academy, military police training program, or an equivalent that presented the individual with an appropriate certificate or diploma (P.O.S.T., DD214)
- Must have at least two (2) calendar years of full-time experience as a security guard, law enforcement, or military experience.
Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- No felony convictions. (Misdemeanor convictions must be mentioned.)
- Candidates must pass a criminal background check, employment verification, and education verification.
- Fingerprints are required
- Drug test is required
- Ability to travel without limitations.
- Armed Guard Card (Preferred)
- Proof of firearm qualification. Must pass a quarterly firearm qualification. Each guard must qualify at least once each quarter.
- Must possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Reliable transportation
Physical Requirements:
Protectors must be able to meet the physical demands of the job, with or without accommodations, which include:
- In good physical shape
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods;
- Ability to transport themselves where their physical presence is required;
- Ability to lift, move, or transport files that can weigh up to 20 pounds.
