Retail Manager

The Retail Sales Manager is responsible for driving the sales performance of the store, managing the sales team, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining a positive, efficient, and productive store environment. The role requires leadership, sales expertise, and a passion for customer service.
Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate the sales team to achieve sales targets, KPIs, and performance goals.
- Ensure high standards of customer service are met by training and mentoring the sales team, addressing customer issues, and handling escalations.
- Hire, train, and evaluate staff performance. Conduct regular coaching and feedback sessions to improve skills and productivity.
- Oversee inventory levels, monitor stock movements, and ensure products are available and displayed according to company standards.
- Ensure the store's visual presentation is aligned with brand standards and optimized for sales.
- Develop and implement strategies to boost sales, including promotions, discounts, and upselling techniques.
- Track and report on sales performance, customer feedback, and store metrics. Analyze trends to suggest improvements in processes or operations.
- Work within the store's budget for operational expenses, including staffing and supplies.
- Ensure the store complies with company policies, legal requirements, and health and safety regulations.
- Build relationships with repeat customers and enhance the store’s reputation in the community.
- Knowledge of the cannabis industry and strong knowledge of products and strains sold in store.
- Set sales goals and individual goals for employees, regularly communicate these goals to staff to keep everyone informed and motivated.
- Follow all opening and closing procedures, help implement new procedures as needed.
- Ensure all employees are following cash handling procedures and keeping record of discrepancies.
- Ensuring proper scanning and processing of transactions is within compliance.
- Monitor sales floor for any needs that may arise.
- Assist in conflict resolution for employees and customers immediately and in a
professional manner.
- Full time open availability – available nights, holidays, and weekends.
Experience
· High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred).
· 3 years of retail sales experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
· Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to analyze sales data and implement effective sales strategies.
· Excellent customer service skills and a problem-solving attitude.
· Proficiency with retail management software and point-of-sale systems.
· Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
· Lift and carry merchandise (up to a certain weight, based on the store's needs).
· Availability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
