Position: Case Aide
Location: Pine City or Sandstone, MN and eligible for remote work
Union: AFSCME H&HS Unit
FLSA status: Full-time, non-exempt (37.5 hrs/week)
General Overview of Work
As a Public Health Case Aide, you will play a vital role in supporting the operations of the public health department. Your responsibilities will include providing administrative support, connecting clients to services, and supporting billing for public health programs. You will help ensure the smooth implementation of public health initiatives by overseeing program eligibility and intake, verifying insurance coverage and proper documentation, and monitoring community resources that would benefit clients. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be key to maintaining accurate records, tracking insurance eligibility and documentation, and supporting the overall public health department. By providing crucial administrative support, you will contribute to the wellbeing of our community through effective public health service delivery. Essential Duties:
- Provides initial client contract; explaining program policies, procedures, referring clients to other programs that they may be eligible for (both in community and other agencies).
- Performs and assists associates with entering client data into state information systems.
- Transfers and reconciles data between various computer systems to ensure consistency of data and proper service delivery.
- Maintains unit files; collects data for required reports.
- Participates in community outreach events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
General knowledge of the principles and practices of public assistance programs and social service organizations; general knowledge of agency programs and operations and other community resources; general knowledge of social services licensing and background requirements; ability to analyze data and exercise sound judgment in arriving at conclusions; ability to follow complex oral and written instructions; ability to manage workload and meet deadlines; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to prepare clear and concise reports; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, associates and the public.
