All products are designed and built at our Harwich facility.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Part-Time Accountant to join Pine Harbor, starting as soon as possible. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a flexible work environment, enjoys working independently, and has a passion for financial management. The position requires 20-25 hours per week with flexible scheduling.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable: Review, confirm, and process payments for bills. Ensure accounts are current and payments are made in a timely manner. Manage vendor relationships and credit applications.
- Accounts Receivable: Post incoming payments from customers. Handle bank deposits and track unpaid balances. Navigate lingering payments to ensure timely resolution.
- Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of all transactions. Credit card reconciliation to bank recons
- Monthly Reporting: Prepare monthly financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, along with budget vs. actual reports. Perform monthly close journals including prepaids, accruals, depreciation
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement, with a focus on gross margins and operating expenses.
- Payroll Processing: Process payroll; work with payroll service provider to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Tax Support: Pay monthly Sales & Use tax; provide documentation and support for the preparation of annual tax returns.
- Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries to record financial transactions in Quick Books Online; Process and record daily cash receipts, remote deposits and perform daily cash flow
- Fixed Asset Management: Maintain the fixed asset register and calculate depreciation.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory tracking and costing (if applicable).
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic financial forecasts.
- Internal Controls: Assist in maintaining and improving internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards, regulations, and legal requirements.
- Software Management: Manage and maintain accounting software (QuickBooks Online), including updates and troubleshooting.
Requirements
- Experience Level: 3 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, preferably with a small business.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.
- Education Level: Associate's degree in Accounting or related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred, but not required.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Independence: Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Salary : $45 - $65
