The Dietary cook is responsible for the preparation and service of meals for Pine Haven residents, Evergreen Place residents, Meals-on-Wheels recipients and special functions in an attractive, nutritional and sanitary manner.
Job Duties:
- Supervises the production and service of all meals and is responsible for direction of the food production in the absence of the Director of Dietary.
- Prepares and serves meals according to planned menus and schedules for Regular and Therapeutic diets according to established departmental policies and procedures.
- Assist in checking in and storing in-coming foods and supplies.
- Follows standardized recipes and special diet orders and requests.
- Assists in serving meals while practicing established portion control procedures.
- Checks trays to ensure correct diets are being served to individuals according to diet tray cards.
- Maintains required records, such as substitutions lists and temperature records.
- Follows established production schedules.
- Performs scheduled cleaning duties and assists in maintaining a sanitary Dietary department.
- Reports supply and equipment needs to the Director of Dietary.
- Attends in-service training sessions as required by the facility.
- Reports changes in resident’s eating habits and diets to the Director of Dietary.
- May help orientate new Dietary personnel.
- Helps fill in for sick calls, vacation days and special functions as needed to maintain adequate staffing.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Dietary.
- Employees will comply with the rules and regulations as set forth by the facility.
- Participate in safety inspections.
- Take care of equipment, use equipment safely and properly as trained by the facility.
- Help to protect the rights of the residents at Pine Haven as outlined in the Resident Bill of Rights.
