Overview
Pine Ridge Technologies, Inc. (“PRT”) is an electrical contractor with experience in many aspects of electrical contracting, including transit, railroad, security, fire alarm, fiber optic, ITS, highway lighting, and traffic signal projects. We are looking for a full time project manager to manage our contract/project/construction contracts. This is a Estimator/Project Manager position for an accomplished professional that wants to build on their skills to deliver quality customer service.
The Estimator/ Project Manager must have the ability to build relationships, estimate, close and manage projects. The candidate must possess excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills. The candidate must have the ability to work independently and have industry knowledge. The ability to handle multiple tasks and personalities are vital to the success of this position.
Responsibilities
- Plan, oversee and direct all aspects of the project before, during and after construction
- Support the marketing, estimating and bidding process
- Set up new contracts – read and clearly understand the contract, and communicate salient points to the field staff
- Read, understand and interpret customer plans and specifications
- Obtain bonds, insurance and business licenses when required
- Set up new jobs, prepare instructions, and provide reasonable but aggressive labor goals
- Prepare and assemble shop drawings and submittals
- Procure subcontractors, tools, equipment, and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules
- Prepare required reports with explanation of any deviations when actual job costs are not in line with estimated job cost reports
- Evaluate specifications to plan procedures, starting and completion times, and staffing requirements for each phase of given projects
- Monitor project progress and maintain project schedule
- Reconcile all labor/material/equipment costs and bookings in order to prepare project billings and ensure timely payments, following up on outstanding accounts and pushing for payment
- Generate internal estimates and proposals to the customer, including all change order and extra work requests
- Provide purchasing support for both inventory and job-specific items. Be involved in ongoing search for quality materials and competitive pricing
- Direct supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays
- Work directly with field staff to carry out the daily/weekly/monthly scheduling processes
- Work directly with field staff to ensure completion of work within budget
- Track productions on a daily/weekly basis and compare to bid/estimate
- Work with supervisory personnel and labor representatives to resolve complaints and grievances within work force
- Process monthly maintenance reports and invoices
- Review job performance for all contracts on a monthly basis. Communicate and review results with supervisor and field staff.
- Complete all work on time, on budget with a satisfied customer
- Develop/maintain ongoing customer relationships, including in-person visits
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once
- Ensure project success for all aspects of the project
- Complete other tasks as required by your supervisor
Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience estimating and/or project management of municipal construction projects, preferably in the electrical field
- Experience with the electrical industry, either with managing and/or installation of electrical projects
- Knowledge of commonly used industry terms, material, and equipment
- Knowledge and experience in: estimating, understanding and reading plans/specs
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task
- Drive and ambition
- Ability to change communication style to fit the situation and audience
- Strong customer service orientation
- Strong interpersonal skills to demonstrate teamwork, leadership and creative flexibility while dealing with all levels of the organization
- Knowledge of Microsoft office programs
- Knowledge of commonly used accounting practices a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
