Job Description
Pine Technical and Community College is accepting applications for a Full-time Carpentry Instructor. The instructor will teach primarily in-person at our Pine City campus. This position will provide instruction, student advising, and academic program responsibilities in the Construction Technology Program. This position will become unlimited upon completion of required six semesters of probationary status.
Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirement
- Diploma from a carpentry program or completion of a registered carpentry apprenticeship program.
Occupational Experience Requirement
- Four full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid work experience as a carpenter.
Recency Requirement
- One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Other Requirements
In accordance with the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities (Minnesota State) Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State's vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
A job offer may be contingent upon successfully passing a background check. The background check may consist of the following components:
- Criminal Background Check
- Employment Record Review (current and former State employees only)
- Employment Reference Check
- Conflict of Interest Review

Salary and Benefits:
The current starting salary range is $44,143 - $73,690. Full-time faculty work a 171-day contract during a nine-month academic year (mid-August to mid-May). Please note: Initial salary placement is determined on the basis of education and experience in accordance with the faculty contract.
